YUM YUM CHA Basant Kunj
The Yum Yum Cha project at DLF Promenade Mall, Basant Kunj, is one of JDM Design’s signature hospitality interiors, created for one of Delhi’s most popular modern Asian dining brands. The client envisioned a vibrant, youthful, and immersive dining experience that reflects the brand’s playful personality while maintaining a premium aesthetic suited to a luxury mall environment.
JDM Design undertook the complete interior design, planning, and execution, transforming the available commercial space into a seamless blend of creativity, comfort, and efficiency. The result is an ambiance that’s visually delightful, operationally functional, and instantly recognizable.
Spatial Planning & Technical Detailing
The total area was meticulously planned to include:
A main dining zone with varied seating clusters for flexibility.
A compact open kitchen interface, designed with optimized workflow for staff efficiency.
Ambient lighting design, using concealed LED coves and suspended fixtures to achieve a balanced mood.
Acoustic ceiling and flooring treatments, minimizing noise for diners.
HVAC and MEP coordination, integrated with mall infrastructure.
The interior was executed using durable and low-maintenance materials, including engineered wood, textured laminates, patterned tiles, and powder-coated metal fixtures. The design followed all DLF Promenade’s technical and fire safety compliance requirements, ensuring seamless approval and integration.
Material & Finish Palette
A combination of earthy textures and vibrant tones defined the material story.
Flooring: Anti-slip vitrified tiles with seamless joint alignment.
Walls: High-density laminate panels with laser-cut decorative inserts.
Ceiling: Suspended grid system with concealed air-conditioning ducts.
Furniture: Custom-designed wooden chairs and modular seating upholstered in vegan leather for easy maintenance.
Lighting: LED linear tracks, concealed cove lights, and ambient pendants for a warm dining glow.
Each element was hand-selected to ensure durability while maintaining design coherence across the brand’s multiple outlets.
